Artist Statement
Watercolor is a favorite medium to use when I am painting flowers or ethereal realms. Oil paints for plein air landscapes. For abstract expressions of movement and color I combine acrylic and charcoal on board. I love to give myself the freedom to create in any medium, including earthenware hand-built ceramics. When I am moved to paint something, I am expressing the subject’s beauty but also the feelings that I have for that subject deep within my being. The tenderness of a flower, the strength and wisdom of a giant tree or the connectedness felt in meditation. When viewing my art, if you feel something within you move, then I know that I have beensuccessful with my creation!

About the Artist
Gail M. Austin currently resides in Palisade Colorado and is a second generation artist. Gail has considered herself an artist since she was a young child. The beauty of nature and her spiritual connections are apparent in her art. Gail is the creator/author of “Creativity & Love” Oracle card deck and booklet. A set of 44 4x6 inch playing cards with original painting images from Gail’s “Spiritual Series”. The first edition has sold out, contact Gail to pre-order for the next edition.
